SFS Services

The Hacienda La Puente Unified School District Youth Court is a school community response to student behavioral challenges. The primary goal of Restorative Youth Court is to hold the student offender (respondent) accountable for his/her actions within a positive social network of support. The Youth Court format is the adult/judge model. In other words, the court process is facilitated by an adult judge and driven by student jurors, clerks, and bailiffs. The use of positive peer pressure is key in increasing the respondent’s awareness in regards to the impact his/her actions have had on our community. The main focus of HLPUSD Restorative Youth Court is about students assisting students, and allowing participants to foster positive youth identity.
