PUBLIC MEETING NOTICE

Virtual Regular Board of Education Meeting 

April 15, 2021 - 5:00 p.m. Closed Session; 6:00 p.m. Public Session.

The meeting will be livestreamed via YouTube link on the front page of the District website at www.hlpschools.org or you can click on the Zoom link listed below. 

HOW TO PROVIDE PUBLIC COMMENT AT BOARD MEETING 

Should you wish to provide Public Comment for Open Session or Closed Session items for the Regular Board meeting, please follow these steps (live comments through Zoom – access via computer): 

  1. The Regular Meeting will utilize the following Zoom link. Register for the Zoom Webinar at the following link:  https://hlpusd-k12-ca.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_8Q2nf7u0RuWD-htlrKm9kA 
  2. Submit your request on the google sheet below on April 15, 2021between 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Clearly identify the topic you wish to speak on, and click on the following google sheet link to submit your request to speak. https://forms.gle/bt6eWBSwKjPdYU2P7 
  3.  During the meeting, please wait to be called upon by Board President to make your comment. To begin speaking, please unmute your audio. Pursuant to Board Bylaw 9323, public comment on any one agenda or non-agenda item is limited to three minutes per speaker, for a total of 15 minutes per topic.

 Governor Newsom issued Executive Order N-25-20 on March 12, 2020, and Executive Order N-29-20 on March 17, 2020. Portions of these orders relax parts of the Brown Act. In part, the orders allow elected officials to “attend” a meeting virtually without having to admit members of the public into the location from which they are participating (N-25-20) and orders that "such a body need not make available any physical location from which members of the public may observe the meeting and offer public comment" (N-29-20). The only business conducted by the Board is as published on the Governing Board Agenda at https://go.boarddocs.com/ca/hlpusd/board.nsf/public

To ensure every student’s success, the Hacienda La Puente Unified School District Board of Education goals are:

Goal 1:  All students in the Hacienda La Puente Unified School District will succeed in meeting high standards and achieving at high academic levels.

Goal 2: The Hacienda La Puente Unified School District will provide a supportive and innovative learning environment rich in the visual and performing arts and a challenging course of study to meet the unique needs of every student.

Goal 3:  The Hacienda La Puente Unified School District will attract and retain quality personnel who demonstrate strong, positive leadership that promotes a culture of collaboration and teamwork and creates an environment in which all stakeholders feel respected, valued and are dedicated to every student’s success.

Goal 4:  The Hacienda La Puente Unified School District will efficiently expend and effectively maximize all resources to fulfill educational priorities, while sustaining and maintaining long-term financial stability.

Goal 5: The Hacienda La Puente Unified School District will provide its students and employees with safe, orderly and clean schools and district sites.

Goal 6: The Hacienda La Puente Unified School District will continue to develop, sustain, recognize, and promote programs of excellence and strong partnerships with parents and the community which result in high levels of success for all students.
