In 1998, the California Department of Education awarded IRS "Program of Excellence." 

The Department of Rehabilitation Services Section also awarded IRS " Program Of The Year" in 2000.

Landscape & Gardening

The course is designed to prepare students for basic entry-level positions in the landscape maintenance or sprinkler installation industry. Students are instructed in safety procedures, learn to identify various types of plants and trees, and are instructed in the proper use of hand and power tools. Basic math skills and job cost estimations are also included. Students are paid an hourly rate based on productivity.

Food Services

The course is designed to instruct students in general food preparation, busing, dishwashing, server skills, salad-bar preparation, and cashiering, thereby preparing students for competitive employment in the food service industry. They also learn bakery techniques used in restaurants, markets, and retail shops. Students are paid an hourly rate based on productivity.

About IRS

IRS is a vocational rehabilitation program designed to job train individuals with severe disabilities,  providing services in the San Gabriel Valley since 1972.  The program serves individuals with mental retardation, autism, epilepsy, mental illness, sensory impairments, and physical disabilities.

The Custodial Building Maintenance program provides cleaning service to many businesses in the community, as well as within our own campus.

Our Food Service program offers full catering services to meet your entertainment needs.

The Landscape and Gardening program offers a variety of services including landscape installation and maintenance, cleanup, sprinkler installation, and light tree work.

The Production Workshop provides packaging and assembly support to companies throughout the surrounding area.

Production Workshop

The course is designed to prepare students for employment in the assembly and packaging field. They learn to use heat sealers, L-bar sealers, automatic shrink-wrap machines, blister pack, and skin wrap equipment. They train for various kinds of assembly work, sorting, wiring assembly, and disassembly. Students are paid based on productivity.

Custodial Building Maintenance

This course is designed to provide knowledge and training in efficient cleaning techniques, preparing students for competitive employment in the janitorial industry. They learn to use power machines, chemicals, dusting and polishing fixtures and furniture, safety procedures, and customer relations. Students are paid an hourly rate based on productivity
