Enrollment / Transfer Forms
Thank you for your commitment to the Hacienda La Puente Unified School District. We strive to serve our families and improve our services to students and their families.
Inter-district Transfer Application
The Inter-District Transfer Application is for Residents of the Hacienda La Puente Unified School District wanting to request to attend a public school district other than their home district. All Inter-District applications will be completed and submitted electronically.
Please follow these steps for our Inter-district Permit Process:
Step One: Click the link below to access the Online Inter-District Transfer Application – at home or at a school site: HLPUSD Interdistrict Transfer Application.
Step Two: Complete and submit the online form to Student and Family Services. The online form will require you to provide a letter of reason for leaving and any documents to support your request. Once the form is complete, parents will receive an email confirmation of submission. This informational email does NOT constitute an acceptance of release from HLPUSD, but will provide you with verification that it has been submitted along with your answers to questions on the form.
Step Three: Processed applications will be returned to parents via electronic mail to the email address provided in the application.
All transfer requests will need to be approved by the Executive Director at Student and Family Services.
Open Enrollment (Intra-district transfer application)
All HLPUSD students generally attend the school where their residency has been established. HLPUSD residents also have the opportunity to submit a School of Choice application during Open Enrollment. HLPUSD Families that apply for Open Enrollment this year, will be placed in the applicant pool for their school of choice for the 2026-2027 school year.
All Open Enrollment applications will be done electronically.

*Please note this is not for new enrollments or students on Inter-district Permit from outside the district. New student enrollment (TK-12) for 2026-27 school year begins on January 20, 2026. Visit: Enroll Your Student If you are enrolling a new student.

Volunteer Applications
All HLPUSD volunteers must be approved by the Human Resources department prior to the start of any volunteer service. All applications for the 2025-2026 academic year will be submitted and processed online via Informed K12 and will be available as of July 1, 2025.
