A Message to Our Hacienda La Puente Unified Community: District Support (English, Spanish, Mandarin)

Dear Hacienda La Puente Unified Families,
 
We recognize that many in our community may be facing anxiety, fear, and uncertainty due to the recent immigration enforcement activity in the Los Angeles area, including the presence of the military.
 
As Superintendent, I want to reaffirm our District’s unwavering commitment for all our students and families and extend our deepest empathy and support to everyone impacted by these actions. HLPUSD remains committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and welcoming learning environment where every student can thrive, regardless of their background.
 
We do understand that at this time, parents have reached out to us and shared concerns regarding their child’s learning this summer. To support our school community, we are sharing some important updates and resources:
 
Virtual Summer School Learning: 

• To ensure educational continuity, we are offering several virtual summer school options through Mt. San Antonio College (Mt. SAC) and Valley Virtual School. If your student is interested in participating and currently enrolled in Middle School Math 8 or a high school summer course through Mt. SAC, please call (909) 274-5192 for enrollment information.
• If your student is currently enrolled in Middle School Algebra Enrichment or a high school summer course through the HLPUSD, please call (626) 933-3401 for enrollment information.
• If you are unsure which program your student currently attends, please view their course in Aeries Parent Portal (middle school) or contact your High School counselor. Enrollment can be completed in-person or virtually.  

 
Updated Immigration Support Resources: We also want to remind families that our District Immigration Resources site has been updated with important information and support services. We encourage you to visit the site for guidance and available resources.
 
Please know that we are here for you. Our schools remain safe and welcoming places for all students and families. If you have any questions or need assistance, please reach out to your school and/or the District office.
