A Message to Our Hacienda La Puente Unified Community (English, Spanish, Mandarin)

Dear Hacienda La Puente Unified School District Families,

We are aware of increased immigration enforcement activity and protests taking place in Los Angeles County communities this weekend. We want to assure our community that our top priority is to maintain a safe and welcoming learning environment for all and we have taken proactive steps to support and protect our families.

Hacienda La Puente Unified School District supports the right of our students to learn in alignment with Board policy and state guidance. Please know the following:

• We will not allow ICE agents on school grounds without prior approval from the Superintendent or a lawfully executed court order.
• We do not collect or share information about the immigration status of our students or their families.

We have also created a dedicated webpage with helpful resources for families navigating these immigration-related concerns. We strongly encourage families to take steps to protect themselves and stay informed:

• Know your rights.
• Have an emergency plan in place.
• Reach out for support when needed.

The Hacienda La Puente Unified School District is proud to serve diverse students. We will continue to work closely with the Los Angeles County Office of Education, Los Angeles County, California Department of Education, and community partners to ensure that our campuses remain safe and inclusive spaces.
