To Protect and Serve – Public Service Pathway at La Puente High School
The Public Safety Pathway at La Puente High School, part of Hacienda La Puente Unified, offers students hands-on learning in criminal justice, forensic science, and dispatching. Led by pathway instructor Toni Ramirez, the program prepares students to pursue careers in various public safety fields, such as law enforcement, emergency dispatch, forensic investigation, and much more!
Along the way, students develop essential skills like managing crisis situations calmly, addressing challenging topics such as domestic violence, and communicating clearly and effectively under pressure.
The pathway also provides unique field trips, opportunities to earn multiple industry-recognized certificates, and practical experiences that set students on the path to success.
La Puente High’s Public Safety Pathway was recently recognized as one of only eight schools to receive the prestigious Program of Excellence Award from the Law and Public Safety Education Network (LAPSEN) and will be honored in early 2025.
